OH MY GOSH! Worst Cooks In America has a new season up! SHOOT! My favorite animes are finally dubbed! GAH! Hulu and Netflix have a whole slew of new movies and shows I need to catch up on!
When I come home from my “day job” the first thing I want to do is sprawl out on the couch with my pups and fall down the endless hole of Netflix and Hulu. They always have a show that I want to catch up on… or re-watch. Whether its HULU or Netflix they usually have a movie I want to watch. It is my biggest and deadliest distraction, especially when I am stressed or depressed.
With all the technology we have today it is so easy to get caught up in it. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Netflix, Hulu, and many others quickly suck you in and eat hours of your time without you even noticing it. I will fully admit that I fall victim to on a semi-regular basis, but I am changing that now.
I have learned that even though I can multi-task with the best of them… it’s not my best work. It has taken me a long time to admit that, but I am finally owning up to it. Admitting it to myself is a big step- in the right direction. My best work comes from giving it my complete focus instead of half listening/watching the TV.
My dreams and my goals are more important than the most recent season of Hells Kitchen on Hulu. I have started to change the way I wake up in the morning, read about that here. It has helped keep my mind on the goal instead of getting distracted.
