I’m Taking You With Me On My Weight loss Journey!

Fitness, Personal

I love to write and read. They are my favorite pass times. I have more journals than I probably should, and I have my own growing library of books. Weight loss and Photography, along with writing, are obsessions of mine. However, I am not a personal trainer, and I do not claim that I know everything about nutrition or working out! Honestly, I am still figuring out what works for me, weight loss wise! The great thing though is I want to share my journey! So I’m taking you with me!

Weight Loss, Stress Relief

I am not a sedentary person! I like to move around a lot otherwise I get really bored, frustrated, and well let’s be honest: lazy! Nothing frustrates me more than feeling or being lazy! What can I possibly get done to better myself and life by being a damn couch potato? Incorporating fitness and activity into my life is crucial on so many levels!

I’m going to get really personal and honest with you now. Currently, I am overweight. Not because I love food, I do, but because of stress! A little over a year ago my husband, David, and I went to a holistic doctor because we felt like we were out of options. We found out that I have all of the symptoms of PCOS without actually having PCOS. Stupid right? I never thought I would be able to live my life without medicine again. I came out of the meeting with so many prescriptions I thought my mind was going to explode.

Thinking we didn’t have any choice but to get all of these holistic prescriptions filled we ran off to get them. I spent the next several months figuring out the perfect routine and times to take all of these. We even went as far as to get one of those large medicine separators.

After moving to Seattle my weight loss journey, without the medicine, started taking off. No joke, the stuff I was taking is expensive! When I got my day job the weight started coming back. Come to find out stress has an unbelievably large effect on my body. It totally sucks but nonetheless something I have to live with. We have to keep my stress levels down… like way down. You know the saying “I can’t even look at bread because I will gain weight like a fat kid eating ice cream”? Well, that is me but with stress. I am consistently looking for stress relief fitness, self-care, mind, and whatever else routines!

Recently I have started to incorporate Yoga back into my life… seriously need it on a daily basis like my coffee! Do you have any other stress relief rituals, routines, or exercises I can try?

Can’t wait to share more of my weight loss journey with you! I know you all can keep me super accountable! ;D

I have to meditate during the day (at some point) or I start to spiral into this whirl-wind of “what ifs.” It’s WAY worse when i’m pregnant, but something that when I don’t do it during the day, it’s like 20584 times worse!

Ooo, mediation is so good! I haven’t done that in a long time! I should get back to it!

Stress relief is super important! I’ve just noticed that lately I’ve started clenching my jaw while sleeping or working at the computer, which is a sign of stress pushed back out of my conscious mind (apparently I’m “good” at ignoring it). So I’m trying to find ways to destress as well! Having a few hours to myself in the morning helps, but that does mean getting up early.

Haha! I LOVE getting up early! Actually late at night and early in the morning are my most productive times because there are no distractions! Everyone is sleeping, including the dogs, so I don’t have anyone calling or messaging me! I can throw headphones on and just get lost in the things I need to do!

I struggle right along side you. The one thing I find is to meal plan and eat as clean as I can, this seems to help me not feel so stressed if that makes sense, I can actually focus on the problem at hand if I am fuelling my body right.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense! The food we eat can have a major impact on the ways our body runs and our brain works. The cleaner we eat the clearer we can think!

It’s incredible and horrifying how much stress affects our bodies. Way to take control and try out what you feel is best for your lifestyle and body! Like Misty, meditation is a huge one for me!

Yeah! It totally stinks that stress affects me that much! Definitely, need to work meditation back into my life!
